eSports Boom Continues
Red Bull Team Brawl: Hearthstone will return for a second season in 2017 as worldwide eSports audiences get to enjoy three combative 3v3 events from Red Bull’s studio in Santa Monica, USA.
The unique inaugural 2016 edition featuring Blizzard’s popular digital collectible card game tested the teams’ deck-building and teamwork abilities to the limit while shaking up the normal 1v1 format of Hearthstone’s gameplay in a Team Conquest Round-Robin format.
Each team was assigned one 240-card pool with which to construct three 30-card decks (one deck per team member) with teams blind picking one of their three decks for combat against the opposing team.
Once a deck won a game it could not be used again, the first team to win with each of their three decks triumphing in their respective match.
Global eSports fans got to see the likes of professional Hearthstone teams such as Tempo Storm, Team Liquid, Team Kibler and Cloud9 fight it out for top honours.
This season will use the same rules and feature three events on April 15, August 5 and December 15 played out from Red Bull’s iconic eSports Studio in Santa Monica with Tempo Storm joined by players from Team SoloMid, Team Luminosity and Team Dignitas.
Not only that, they will be broadcast live on Red Bull eSports Twitch.tv channel with eager fans getting to see how the teams adopt different tactics to prevail as industry luminaries like Dan “Frodan” Chou and Nathan “Admirable” Zamora shoutcast simultaneously.
